Loco for Choko - balls

The yummiest chocolate balls out there. Try this recipe! put them in the freezer, and grab a candy whenever your sweet tooth kicks in! Add a big plus with these balls: They are gluten free, nut free, sugar free & Vegan!

15 fresh dates (You CAN use dried dates... BUT I truly recommend doing the switch to fresh ones, it just taste SOOO much better and the consistency of the balls becomes 'perfecto'!

3 BIG table spoons of coconut oil ( soft, but not melted)

2-4 tbsp cacao (depending on how chocolatey you want it)

2 tsp raw vanilla powder or sugar free vanilla extract

1/2 dl shredded coconut + more to roll them in

2 dl oats

1 tbsp strong brewed coffee ( I usually put instant 2 tsp instant coffee in 1 tbsp of almond/coconut/oat milk and stir it around and add that to the batch. But you can also brew really strong coffee and just use 1-2 tbsp of the brewed coffee into the mix)


Start with taking the seeds out the dates otherwise you are going to get Rome rocks in your chocolate balls, and we don't want that do we ;).

Then in a food processor: Add the dates and coconut oil. Blend until smooth.

Add the cacao, vanilla, coffee, shredded coconut, and lastly the oats. Make sure the mix doesn't become TOO dry so you can't roll them into balls.. but other than that, you can't go wrong. Roll them in coconut and store them in the freezer. I usually eat my first ball after 15 min when it's a bit firmer and a bit cold ( except for all the dough I eat when I make them).
